The reciter: And Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated, he said: Ibn Abi 'Adi narrated to us, from Ibn 'Unayn, from Mujahid, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Layla, from Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: In my case was this verse revealed: 'And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment in his head, then an expiation of fasting or charity or sacrifice.' He said: 'So I came, and he said: Come closer. So I came closer. He said: Come closer. So I came closer. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do the insects bother you?' - Ibn 'Unayn said: 'And I think he said: Yes.' He said: 'So he ordered me to make an expiation of fasting or charity or sacrifice, whatever is easy.'.
The Shaykh : His statement (peace and blessings be upon him), the apparent meaning is that it applies to all three. And on this basis, if it is not easy for him to do so: And on this basis, if the sacrifice, the feeding, and the fasting are not easy for him, then it is dropped from him, like other obligatory duties.
So if someone asks: Where is the feeding to be done? And where is the slaughtering to be done?
We say: It is to be done in the place where the prohibited act was committed, whether in the state of ihram or in the sacred precinct.
As for fasting: It is in any place. The reason for the difference is that no one's right is attached to fasting, unlike feeding and sacrifice, which extend to others, so the place is taken into account.
Then, the sacrifice is an expiation, and nothing from it is permissible to be eaten; rather, it is all distributed among the poor.
Now, if someone asks: The sacrifice is general, so does every sacrificial animal suffice?
The answer: No, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan al-Bayhaqi 17:117. And on this basis, it must be a two-year-old goat or a one-year-old sheep.
Does a two-year-old sheep suffice or not?
It suffices, except according to the Zahiriyyah. The Zahiriyyah say: A two-year-old sheep does not suffice, because the Messenger said:Sunan Abi Dawud 2797Da'if (Al-Albani) But this is what is consistent with their apparentism. Otherwise, it is known that if a one-year-old sheep suffices, then the sufficiency of a two-year-old sheep is even more so.

Do not slaughter except a mature animal, unless it is difficult for you, then slaughter a one-year-old sheep.
