Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated, saying: 'Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Zakariyya ibn Abi Zayd, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman al-Asbahani narrated to us, saying: 'Abd Allah ibn Ma'qil narrated to me, saying: Ka'b ibn 'Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me: That he went out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a state of ihram, and lice infested his head and beard. That reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he sent for him and called the barber, who shaved his head. Then he said to him: "Do you have any sacrificial animal?" He said: "I cannot afford one." So he ordered him to fast for three days, or to feed six poor people, with one sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) for every two poor people. Then Allah the Exalted revealed specifically regarding this: "And if any of you is ill or has an ailment in his head," and then it became general for the Muslims..
