The Book of Hajj-04b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, 'Amr al-Naqid, and Zuhayr ibn Harb all narrated to us from Ibn 'Uyaynah. 'Amr said: He said: Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim from his father from 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
We set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and we thought it would be nothing but Hajj. When we reached Saraf, or near it, I started menstruating. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came in to me while I was crying and said, "Have you started your period?"—meaning menstruation. I said, "Yes." He said, "This is something Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. So do what the pilgrims do, except do not circumambulate the House until you have taken a ritual bath." She said: And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed cows on behalf of his wives.
