The Shaykh : This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-'Ankabut 29:45] So when a person establishes the prayer by performing it completely with its conditions, pillars, obligatory acts, and as many of its recommended acts as he is able, and one of the most important aspects of establishing it is humility in it, which is the presence of the heart and not engaging the mind in idle thoughts, whispers, or anxieties. This is among the most important aspects of establishing the prayer. So if he establishes the prayer in this manner, it is among the causes that prevent him from major and minor sins. Also, among the most important causes is reciting what protects one from the devils, such as reciting the Verse of the Throne [Al-Baqarah 2:255]. Whoever recites it in the night, a guardian from Allah remains with him, and no devil approaches him until morning. He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
