The Book of Hajj-10a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Misibi narrated to us, saying: Anas, meaning Ibn Iyad, narrated to me, from Musa ibn Uqbah, from Nafi', that Abdullah informed him:
That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) faced the two ends of the mountain between him and the long mountain, toward the Ka'bah, making the mosque that was built then to the left of the mosque at the end of the mound, and the prayer place of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was below it on the black mound, leaving ten cubits or so from the mound, then he would pray facing the two ends of the long mountain between you and the Ka'bah, (peace and blessings be upon him).
.

The Shaykh : All these places are unknown to us, but perhaps the people of Makkah can identify them and know them, and they have now, Allah knows best, been lost in the construction.
But if someone were to ask: If a person takes a bath for entering the state of ihram at Qarn al-Manazil and then walks, does that suffice for the bath required for entering Makkah?
Answer: Yes, because there is now, by car, only an hour or so between Qarn al-Manazil and Makkah, so it is like the one who stays overnight at Dhu al-Hula, takes a bath, and enters Makkah.
Moreover, in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), people would walk on camels and mounts, and dust and discomfort would befall the person, so he would take a bath, but now, praise be to Allah, the matter is different.
