The reciter: And Harimah ibn Yahya narrated to me, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Yunus informed me from Ibn Shihab, saying: Qabisa ibn Dhu'ayb al-Ka'bi informed me that he heard Abu Hurayrah say:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade a person to combine in marriage a womanarid her father's sister, and a woman and her mother's sister. نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يجمع الرجل بين المرأة وعمتها وبين المرأة وخالتها
Sahih Muslim 1408d
Ibn Shihab said "We consider the maternal aunt of her father and the paternal aunt of her father to be in that same position".

The Shaykh : And it is so. So the women between whom it is forbidden to combine in marriage are complete? Three: a woman and her sister, a woman and her paternal aunt, and a woman and her maternal aunt. Likewise, the paternal aunt of the mother and the paternal aunt of the father are in the position of a paternal aunt, and the maternal aunt of the mother and the maternal aunt of the father are in the position of a maternal aunt. We have mentioned previously that the paternal aunt of the mother or the father is a paternal aunt for everyone who comes from their descendants. Likewise, the paternal aunt of the father means that a person's paternal aunt is a paternal aunt for him and for all his descendants. And a person's maternal aunt is a maternal aunt for him and for all his descendants. Yes.
