Ruling on a man marrying a woman and her maternal or paternal aunt

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):
One should not combine a woman and her father's sister, nor a woman and her mother's sister in marriage.لا يجمع الرجل بين المرأة وعمتها ولا بين المرأة وخالتها
Sahih Muslim 1408a
Is it permissible for a man to uncover the body of his wife's maternal or paternal aunt? And if it is not permissible, what is the meaning of this hadith?

Answer:
A man must not marry both of them, he must not marry a woman and her paternal aunt, nor a woman and her maternal aunt. That is, he is not allowed to marry Fatimah while also marrying her paternal aunt Khadijah, for example, or her maternal aunt. Neither this one nor that one is allowed, whether the older marries the younger or the younger marries the older. If he has Fatimah and she has a paternal aunt or maternal aunt, he must not marry them together. Or if she has a sister's daughter or a brother's daughter, he must not marry them together. He must not marry both of them.
As for a man's paternal aunts, there is no harm; as for his maternal aunts, there is no harm in marrying both of them. But a woman and her maternal aunt, or a woman and her paternal aunt, it is not permissible to marry both of them in marriage, meaning in the marriage contract.
