The reciter: And Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd al-Ghabari narrated to us, saying: Abu 'Uwanah narrated to us from Qatadah from Anas ibn Malik:
that Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he had a traceof yellow on him. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, asked about it. He told him that he had just been married. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "How much did you hand over to her?" He said, "The weight of a date pit in gold." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to him, "Hold a feast, even if it is only with a sheep.
أن عبد الرحمن بن عوف تزوج على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على وزن نواة من ذهب فقال له رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: أولم ولو بشاة .
