If a man says to his wife, "You are divorced three times," does she become divorced from him?

The Shaykh : But suppose he says, "You are divorced three times." This is a matter of scholarly disagreement among the scholars regarding whether the woman becomes divorced from him by this. The correct view is that she does not become divorced from him by this. The correct view is that the pronouncement of three divorces is the same whether the woman has been consummated or not, and that if he says, "You are divorced, you are divorced, you are divorced," even if she has been consummated, it counts as one divorce.
