The reciter: Musaddad narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us from Ibn Jurayj, I heard Ibn Abi Mulaikah narrating from 'Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 2668.
The Shaykh : In this hadith is the affirmation of hatred for Him, the Exalted, meaning that Allah hates, and that His hatred varies in degree, so He hates one person more than another. Hatred, joy, love, and aversion are among the attributes of action that the people of the Sunnah and the community affirm as they came from Allah, while the people of denial (ta'til) distort them, saying that hatred is an expression of retribution and is not something subsisting in Allah Himself. They interpret it as something separate from Allah, or they say it is the will to take retribution, interpreting it as the will which they acknowledge. This is undoubtedly a distortion (tahrif). What Allah has informed us about Himself is from knowledge, for He is most knowledgeable about Himself and about others. So when Allah informs us about Himself with something, it is obligatory to accept it, and when His Messenger informs us about Him with something, it is obligatory for us to accept it. In this is a warning against stubbornness and quarreling, and that the stubborn, crooked person who wants nothing but to deceive people with what he twists with his tongue, such a person is the most hated of men to Allah, the Exalted. If someone were to say, "Is not the polytheist more hated to Allah because shirk is greater?" We would say, yes, but his intended meaning is that the most hated of men in quarrels is the stubborn, quarrelsome one who wants to defeat people with the crooked speech he displays. Yes.
The most despicable amongst persons in the eye of Allah is one who tries to fall into dispute with others
