My question is: I am a man who has fallen into a problem. I used to kiss a girl who is married, and this was during the days of Ramadan. I would kiss her while I was fasting because I had become accustomed to fasting.

The questioner : From the signs of the deposit, this message reached us from the listener or sender M M A. He says, with greetings to the honorable scholars, that in truth, Muslims benefit from this program, and so on. He says, my question is: I am a man who has fallen into a problem. I used to kiss a girl who is married, and this was during the days of Ramadan. I would kiss her while I was fasting because I had become accustomed to fasting, and I was very young at the time. I presented my problem to one of the scholars, and he obligated me to fast only three days, and I did so. However, I am plagued by doubt regarding this fatwa. I ask for the answer?

The Shaykh : This woman whom you kissed, who is married, you have committed two sins. The first sin is the forbidden kiss, because it is not permissible for a person to kiss a woman who is a stranger to him. The second sin is violating the bed of her husband, for this is a transgression against him. You must repent to Allah the Exalted and seek His forgiveness for what occurred. Know that good deeds erase bad deeds. However, the fast you were observing at the time of the kissing is not invalidated unless you ejaculated. If you did not ejaculate, your fast is valid. The one who issued the fatwa for you to fast three days has no basis for his fatwa; it is a fatwa not built upon a Sharia principle, so it is of no account. You are not subject to doubt after this. Follow up with good deeds, and increase in seeking forgiveness and repentance to Allah. We ask Allah to accept your repentance.

The questioner : Yes.
