The Shaykh :" And as for the indication of the Shari'ah regarding the establishment of the attributes of perfection for Allah, it is too numerous to enumerate, such as His saying, the Exalted
He is Allah, there is no deity [except Him], the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. He is Allah, there is no deity except Him, the King, the Pure, the Peace, the Bestower of Faith, the Protector, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory to Allah beyond what they associate with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Giver of Forms.

The student:
to Allah belong the best names له الأسماء الحسنى
[Al-A'raf 7:180]

The Shaykh :
to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. له الأسماء الحسنى يسبح له ما في السماوات والأرض وهو العزيز الحكيم
[Al-Hashr 59:24]
"
If you say, these are names, and you intend to establish the attributes, what is the answer?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Every name entails an attribute, but not vice versa; every name entails an attribute, but not vice versa, meaning that an attribute does not entail a name. However, every name entails an attribute. For this reason, we previously stated in the lesson that faith in the names is not complete except through three things if they are transitive, and through two things if they are intransitive. What are the three things...? You do not believe in any name except by establishing three things
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes, yes, correct. If it is transitive, but if it is not transitive, then it is only the establishment of the name and the attribute. Yes.
