Clarification of an issue: Is the necessary implication of a statement itself a statement, or is it not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, if someone asks, "What do you say about the necessary implication of a statement? Is it a statement or not?" Do you say that the necessary implication of a statement is a statement? For example, if something necessarily follows from a person's statement, do you attribute that necessary implication to that speaker? For instance, if it necessarily follows from the statement of the *ta'til* (denial of the divine attributes) that they deny that He is existent—meaning they deny the Creator—does that necessarily follow from them? If they say, "We cannot describe Allah the Exalted with attributes of existence, because if we affirmed attributes for Him, we would be likening Him to created things," and if they say this, we say, "This necessarily implies that you are likening Him to what is below created things, yes, to non-existent things. And the non-existent is deficient and is nothing." If they say, "We do not describe Him with existence or non-existence," we say, "This is even worse, because you have likened Him to impossibilities." Is this a necessary implication? The scholars say, "If the necessary implication is from the statement of an infallible one, then it is binding. If it is from other than the statement of an infallible one, then it is not binding". This is because a human being may not perceive what necessarily follows from his statement. Perhaps when it is mentioned, it is said, "Such and such false matters necessarily follow from your statement," and he may then retract. Is that clear? Many things, and many things now, a person judges with a ruling, and then when he is questioned, he retracts, because it becomes clear that there are necessary implications that he cannot affirm. And this is the middle position in the issue of the necessary implication: Is the necessary implication of a statement a statement? The answer is: If it is from an infallible one, then it is a statement, and this does not occur except in the speech of Allah and the speech of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). If it is from other than an infallible one, then it is not binding, and it is not a statement for him, because he may not have noticed it at that moment, and if he were pointed to it, he would retract from his statement.
