Explanation of the author's statement: "The fourth: that these deniers claimed that they intended by this method of theirs a good deed and a reconciliation between reason and revelation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"The fourth aspect: that these deniers claimed that they intended by this method of theirs a good deed and a reconciliation between reason and revelation, just as those hypocrites swear that they intended nothing but excellence and reconciliation". This is also a clear resemblance.
The theologians of the Mu'tazilah, the Jahmiyyah, the Asha'irah, and the like say: We followed this method to reconcile reason and revelation. We say: "In the hand of Allah," meaning by it the blessings, why? He said: Because reason denies that He has two tangible, real hands; it denies this. And revelation has come with this in a form that on its surface indicates that they are two real, tangible hands, so we must reconcile reason and revelation and say: The meaning of the hands is, uh? What? The two blessings.
Those who said the meaning is such, did they believe in the revelation? Never. How can they say, "We reconcile revelation and reason"?
If you want to reconcile revelation and reason, accept what revelation brought so that you may be rational, for the rational one is the one who says regarding what he cannot comprehend what the Book and the Sunnah brought in its apparent meaning, with no analogical reasoning, no figurative interpretation, or anything else. Matters of the unseen that reason cannot comprehend must be accepted as they came.
These are not matters of independent legal reasoning where there is room for opinion; these are matters of the unseen where one is restricted to what the Shari'ah brought, yes.
The author says, this is from me: "And every wrongdoer who conceals his falsehood and appears with the truth brings forth false claims to promote his falsehood".
Yes, every person who conceals and appears as if he is in the right brings forth false claims, such as saying: This is the saying of the investigators, this is what the people agreed upon, this is what reason indicates, this is what perfection requires, and the like.
Therefore, when the innovators mentioned that this is the consensus of the people of truth, this was reported to Imam Ahmad, and he said: "And how does he know? Whoever claims consensus is a liar, and how does he know? Perhaps they differed", and he (may Allah have mercy on him) clarified that all such claims are made by one who is upon falsehood, saying: This is the saying of the investigators, this is the correct, this is the truth, and so on.
And everyone can claim this claim, can they not? Everyone can.
And when it is said to themوإذا قيل لهم
[Al-Baqarah 2:11]
The hypocrites
And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth, إذا قيل لهم لا تفسدوا في الأرض
[Al-Baqarah 2:11]
and what do they say?
We are but reformers." إنما نحن مصلحون
[Al-Baqarah 2:11]
.
Glory to Allah! Every person claims that he is upon reform, even atheistic, disbelieving communism. What does it claim by following this path? It claims reform, and that this is the reform on earth, and that the method of Marx and Lenin is reform, whereas what the messengers brought is superstition and contains no reform, but only worn-out minds that time has consumed and exhausted.
So the result is that these four aspects are shared by those people about whom Allah narrated and these deniers.
As for the methodology of the people of the Sunnah and the community, praise be to Allah, it is sound and proceeds according to what the Book and the Sunnah brought, and Allah knows best.
