Explanation of the author's statement: "Chapter Twenty-Five: On the bad titles that the innovators have placed upon the people of the Sunnah, from the wisdom of Allah the Exalted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then the author said: "Chapter Twenty-Five: On the bad titles that the innovators have placed upon the people of the Sunnah".
A title, according to the scholars, is anything that implies praise or blame.
So if they say: Ali, the adornment of the worshippers, "the adornment of the worshippers" is a title of praise. Sa'id Karaz, this is blame.
The people of the Sunnah and the community, and praise be to Allah, all their titles are titles of praise. Even if nothing else were the case, they call themselves the people of the Sunnah, and what is wrong with that? And the community. So there is no religious innovation with them and no division. Rather, all their affairs are based upon the Sunnah of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and upon unity upon it. They are the ones who took the greatest share of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
for the Hand of Allah is with the Jama'ah عليكم بالجماعة، فإن يد الله على الجماعة
Sunan an-Nasa'i 4020Sahih (Darussalam)
.
The author says: "From the wisdom of Allah the Exalted: that He made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals, who turn people away from the truth by whatever means they can of speech and action, through various kinds of schemes, doubts, and false claims, so that the truth thereby becomes clear, distinct, and elevated above falsehood".
How is this? What is its aspect? Allah the Exalted made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals who label him with bad titles, and they criticize his religion and his law, and they say about you such and such and such. Why? So that the truth becomes clear. Because if the truth did not find an opposing force, it would not become clear. People would take it as it is, naively, and not know whether it is truth or not. But when it is opposed, its merits become apparent.
For example, the religion of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance was based upon associating partners with Allah, so Islam came calling to the oneness of Allah.
It was found that there were people who resisted this call and denied the oneness of Allah. So when these resisters were found, it became clear that the oneness of Allah is better than associating partners with Allah. Because the resistance of these people, when presented to a person of reason, makes what is clear? Its corruption.
Likewise, so that the truth may be elevated above falsehood. Because if there are two opponents and the truth is found with one of them, the elevation belongs to whom? To the one with the truth. So he is elevated above falsehood.
Likewise, there is another benefit in this: it is the testing of those who embrace the Shari'ah. Do they have patience with these titles and this harm and remain upon what they are upon of truth, or do they turn back and retreat on their heels? As was found with some people who were blamed and criticized after their Islam, they turned back from Islam, may Allah protect us from that. And this is Abu Talib saying:
"Were it not for the blame or fear of insult, *** I would have found me lenient and clear regarding that".
This is also part of the wisdom in that Allah the Exalted made for the prophets and their followers.
