Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "And Allah, the Exalted, said:
(23) In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over what He has given you. And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful - (24) [Those] who are stingy and enjoin upon people stinginess. And whoever turns away - then indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy. (25) We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidences and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance that the people may maintain [their affairs] in justice. And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people, and so that Allah may make evident those who support Him and His messengers unseen. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.
[Al-Hadid 57:23-25]
. He described them with stinginess, which is stinginess with knowledge and stinginess with wealth"
.

The Shaykh : And they conceal, here.
The reader: The verse
Indeed. Allah does not إن الله لا يحب
[Al-Baqarah 2:190]
.

The Shaykh :
Those who are stingy.
.
The reader: Before it
Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.
[An-Nisa 4:36]
. He read something else.

The Shaykh : Yes, that is correct.
The student: He read it
And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful -
[Al-Hadid 57:23]
.

The Shaykh : They are two verses:
And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful -
[Al-Hadid 57:23]
one verse,
Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.
[An-Nisa 4:36]
one verse, but after them he repeated the verse from the beginning, saying, "Allah, the Exalted, said."
The reader: "And Allah, the Exalted, said:
And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful - (24) [Those] who are stingy and en
[Al-Hadid 57:23-24]
"
.

The Shaykh : Is this how the verse is? The verse in al-Nisa' is
Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful. (37) Who are stingy
[An-Nisa 4:36-37]
, so he corrects the beginning of the verse.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, it does not contradict. Read it.
The reader:
And Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful - (24) [Those] who are stingy
[Al-Hadid 57:23-24]
.

The Shaykh : Is it in agreement with this?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes, this is the end of the verse, indicating that the author intended the verse in al-Nisa'
Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.
[An-Nisa 4:36]
, and that is what we have as well.
The reader:
Whoever من كان
.

The Shaykh : Yes,
Arrogant and boastful.
.
The student: Shaykh, it is clear to us here at the beginning, O Shaykh,
(23) In order that you not despair over what has eluded you and not exult [in pride] over what He has given you.
[Al-Hadid 57:23-25]
, whereas the correct form of the verse is
Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.
[An-Nisa 4:36]
, so is it the verse in al-Nisa' or is it that one?

The Shaykh : Fine, this is it, and what we have is the verse in al-Nisa'
Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.
[An-Nisa 4:36]
.
The reader: "And Allah, the Exalted, said:
Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful. (37) Who are stingy and enjoin upon [other] people stinginess and conceal what Allah has given them of His bounty
[An-Nisa 4:36-37]
He described them with stinginess, which is stinginess with knowledge and stinginess with wealth, even though the context indicates that stinginess with knowledge is the primary intent. Therefore, He described them with concealing knowledge in other verses, such as His saying, the Exalted:
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it."
[Ali 'Imran 3:187]
the verse, and His saying, the Exalted:
(159) Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance after We made it clear for the people in the Scripture - those are cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse, (160) Except for those who repent
[Al-Baqarah 2:159-160]
the verse, and His saying:
Indeed, they who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price - those consume not into their bellies except the Fire
[Al-Baqarah 2:174]
And He said, the Exalted:
And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe وإذا لقوا الذين آمنوا قالوا آمنا
[Al-Baqarah 2:14]
but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers."
[Al-Baqarah 2:14]
"
.
The student: And when they are alone with one another...

The Shaykh : Yes,
but when they are alone with one another
[Al-Baqarah 2:76]
and it is the same for you,
And when they are alone with their devils.
?
The reader:
And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe وإذا لقوا الذين آمنوا قالوا آمنا
[Al-Baqarah 2:14]
but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers."
[Al-Baqarah 2:14]
.

The Shaykh : No, the correct one is what we have:
but when they are alone with one another, they say, "Do you talk to them وإذا خلا بعضهم إلى بعض قالوا أتحدثونهم
[Al-Baqarah 2:76]
. Correct it.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : But the context does not require this.
The reader:
but when they are alone with one another
[Al-Baqarah 2:76]
.

The Shaykh : Yes,
but when they are alone with one another, they say, "Do you talk to them about what Allah has revealed to you so they can argue with you about it before your Lord?" Then will you not reason?
[Al-Baqarah 2:76]
.
