Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (And as for he who is stingy and considers himself self-sufficient)

And for this he said:
But as for he who withholdsوَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ
[Al-Layl:8] He did not give what he was commanded to give.
and considered himself self-sufficientوَاسْتَغْنَى
[Al-Layl:8] That is, he considered himself self-sufficient from Allah the Mighty and Majestic, and he did not fear His nearness; rather, he saw that he was in no need of the mercy of Allah. We ask Allah for well-being and safety.
