Reading from the author's text with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "And opposite to their withholding of their hands is His statement regarding the believers:

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "And opposite to their withholding of their hands is His statement regarding the believers:
And they give zakah
So zakah—although it has become a customary term for the obligatory zakah—is a name for every benefit to creation"
.
The student: Legal

The Shaykh : Yes
The student: A legal reality

The Shaykh : Is it customary with you? I have it as customary, but the legal one seems better. Let it be a manuscript.
The student: But Shaykh, the manuscripts do not have "legal" in them. I mean, this is from Muhammad al-Faqih (may Allah have mercy on him). So, Shaykh, should it be added as a manuscript?

The Shaykh : What do you have in the manuscripts?
The student: All the manuscripts have "customary."

The Shaykh : All of it?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : When was it printed?
The student: One thousand four hundred and seven. It says "a legal reality."

The Shaykh : Legal, one thousand four hundred and seven. In any case, it is a customary legal reality. Now, zakah in custom, when you say zakah, they do not know it to be growth and increase; they know zakah directly as the legal one. Yes.
The reader: "So it is a name for every benefit to creation: whether bodily or financial. So the two aspects here are like the two aspects in withholding the hand.
Then He said:
They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them
[At-Tawbah 9:67]
And forgetting Allah is leaving off His remembrance. And opposite to that in the description of the believers is:
and establish prayer ويقيمون الصلاة
. So prayer—also—encompasses the obligatory prayer and voluntary prayer, and it may include every remembrance of Allah:"
.

The Shaykh :"Every remembrance of Allah" manuscript.
The reader: "And it may include every remembrance of Allah: either verbally or in meaning. Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
As long as you remember Allah, you are in prayer, even if you are in the market
And Mu'adh ibn Jabal said:
Studying knowledge is glorification
"
.

The Shaykh : His statement, Exalted is He:
They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them
[At-Tawbah 9:67]
It is not the forgetting that is the heart's distraction from something known beforehand, for that is impossible for Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to the utmost degree of impossibility. Musa (peace be upon him) said to Pharaoh:
[Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets."
[Taha 20:52]
(Glorified and Exalted is He). But "forgot" means left, and leaving is called forgetting. From this is His statement, Exalted is He, according to one of the interpretations:
And We had already taken a promise from Adam before, but he forgot; and We found not in him determination.
[Taha 20:115]
So one of the sayings regarding the verse is that "forgot" means: left
and We found not in him determination.
[Taha 20:115]
meaning: strength to leave what We forbade them from. And this is the closest. Although some scholars say that the forgetting here is distraction, and that it is due to the strength of Satan's whispering to him and his sharing with him, so he forgot. And that in the previous nations they were held accountable for forgetting, and for this reason Allah punished him for it. In any case, whenever "forgetting" comes regarding Allah, it means leaving. Good. Then He said:
They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them
[At-Tawbah 9:67]
He said regarding the believers, opposite to that:
And they establish prayer
Prayer is remembrance of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) from the first moment you enter it until you conclude it with the taslim. The first thing you say when you enter it is: Allahu Akbar. This is the greatest remembrance. And for this reason He said:
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater
[Al-'Ankabut 29:45]
The scholars said: The meaning of
and the remembrance of Allah is greater
[Al-'Ankabut 29:45]
is: And the remembrance of Allah that this prayer contains is greater. Meaning, the remembrance of Allah in the prayer is greater. And on this basis, their establishing of the prayer is remembrance of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), opposite to His statement regarding the hypocrites:
They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten themنسوا الله فنسيهم
[At-Tawbah 9:67]
So prayer also encompasses the obligatory prayer and voluntary prayer, and it may include every remembrance of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), either verbally or in meaning. Yes.
The student: Then he mentioned what.

The Shaykh : The time is up.
The student: In his statement "meaning," remembrance of Allah in meaning.

The Shaykh : Keep it with you until tomorrow, if Allah wills.
