The ruling on one who forgot to give zakat al-fitr and then gave it after the prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first message in this episode, Your Eminence, is a message received by the program from one of our brother listeners. He says: Hamdan Muhammad ibn Hazayy al-Sharabi, the shaykh of the Banu Yazid tribe of Harb, belonging to the Emirate of Rabigh. Our brother has two questions. His first question says: I inform you that I gave zakat in Ramadan, and I gave zakat for my children and my wives, and I kept my own zakat intending to give it before the prayer. I knew the person to whom I would give the zakat, but I forgot it, and I did not remember it until during the prayer, and I gave it after the prayer. I ask you to inform me: Is there anything required of me regarding that? May Allah reward you with good?
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows: There is no doubt that the sunnah (recommended practice) is to give zakat al-fitr before the festival prayer, as the noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded this. And you did well in what you did in giving it before the prayer. But this thing that you forgot, there is no blame on you for it, and giving it after the prayer is sufficient, and praise be to Allah. Even though it is reported in the hadith that it is a charity among charities, that does not prevent it from being sufficient, and that it occurred in its proper place. We hope that it will be accepted, and that it will be a complete zakat; because you did not delay it intentionally, but you delayed it out of forgetfulness. And Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said in His great Book:
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.رَبَّنَا لا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا
[al-Baqarah:286]. And it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Allah says: I have done so.يقول الله: قد فعلت
So he responded to the call of His believing servants regarding not being held accountable for forgetfulness. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
