What is the ruling on the bridal gift being the teaching of the Qur'an?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : May Allah reward you. A woman is not to be taken in marriage except with a mahr (bridal gift). So how do we reconcile this with the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married [someone] with what he had of the Qur'an?

The Shaykh : Yes, this is a mahr for teaching her the Qur'an. It is a mahr.

The questioner : It is what is used to acquire wealth.

The Shaykh : And what is not used to acquire wealth? It is a benefit. I come to a person and say to him: Teach me the Qur'an for one hundred riyals, for example. This is a benefit.
