He says in his letter: What is the ruling on idhtiba' in the farewell tawaf?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Welcome, Shaykh Muhammad.

The Shaykh : Welcome to you.

The questioner : This is a letter we received from Salim ibn Salim Ba'Ammar. He says in his letter: What is the ruling on idhtiba' in the farewell tawaf?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions. There is no idhtiba' in the farewell tawaf, because the person is not in a state of ihram. The person performs the farewell tawaf wearing his usual clothes.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : He does not have to wear an izar and a rida. Even if it were assumed that he does not have usual clothes, such as a shirt or the like, and he is wearing a rida and an izar, he still does not perform idhtiba' in this tawaf, because idhtiba' is only for the tawaf when a person first arrives in Makkah.
