Explanation of the Book of Purification-18

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He says: "And from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: Take the water vessel, so I went until I was hidden from him, and he relieved himself قال لي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : خذ الإداوة ، فانطلقَ حتى توارى عني فقضى حاجته
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim"
:
Al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the expedition of Tabuk, and he was his companion, and he served him in his ablution and cleaning after relieving himself, so he said to him:
Take the water vessel خذ الإداوة
What is the water vessel?
The water vessel is: a small leather container that holds water, and what is similar to it among us is what is called the matarah, yes.
And his saying:
Take the water vessel خذ الإداوة
It is known that he only ordered him to take it in order to clean himself with water and perform ablution with it.
He (the Holy Prophet) then moved on till he disappeared from my sight فانطلق حتى توارى عني
Sahih Muslim 94c
: "Tawarra" means: he was hidden from me.
And he relieved himself فقضى حاجته
Meaning by urination or defecation, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) did that not for the sake of covering the 'awrah, because covering the 'awrah is obligatory and is achieved with less than that, but rather in order to distance himself from the sight of people seeing him in this state, because the modest man who has modesty does not like for people to see him while he is relieving himself, but rather he likes to distance himself so that they do not see him, and this is different from looking at the 'awrah, because looking at the 'awrah is more severe than this, and the discussion on it will come, if Allah wills.
