And Ahmad added at the end the story of Bilal's (may Allah be pleased with him) saying in the Fajr adhan:Sunan Ibn Majah 716Da'if (Darussalam). And Ibn Khuzaymah narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: Bulugh al-Maram 2:34 ".

And this book, *Bulugh al-Maram*, is organized according to the chapters of Islamic jurisprudence. The adhan in language means: notification. Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said:[At-Tawbah 9:3] Meaning: notification of what? [At-Tawbah 9:3] But in the Shari'ah, it is a specific notification, more specific than the linguistic meaning. And so it is with all Shari'ah definitions; they are more specific than linguistic definitions, meaning that they intend a part of the linguistic meaning, except in one instance that comes to my mind now, which is faith. For faith in the Shari'ah is broader than faith in language, because faith in language is merely the affirmation of the heart, whereas in the Shari'ah it includes all righteous deeds. For this reason, the scholars, the scholars of the people of the Sunnah, said: Faith is the affirmation that entails or necessitates submission and acceptance, and not any affirmation. For example, prayer in language is supplication, but in the Shari'ah it is part of faith, as Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Baqarah 2:143] Meaning: your prayer toward the Sacred Mosque. Here, the adhan in language is notification; in the Shari'ah, it is a specific notification, which is the notification of the arrival of the time for performing the prayer, meaning that the time for performing the prayer has arrived. And what we have mentioned is more appropriate than saying it is notification of the entry of the time, because if the prayer is something whose delay is recommended, then the adhan is delayed. The evidence for this is what is established in *Sahih al-Bukhari*: If it were notification of the entry of the time, the adhan would be called at the beginning of the time. For example, if we are traveling and we want to delay the prayer, do we call the adhan when the time enters, even if we do not pray until the end of the time? No, we do not call the adhan at the time of intending to pray, but at a time when those invited to the prayer are able to prepare for it by performing wudu and other things. Then it is a notification of the intention to pray or the performance of the prayer after the entry of its time. And we said: by the arrival of the time of the prayer in a specific manner, not any notification. For example, saying: "Prayer, prayer, prayer" is not sufficient; it must be in a specific manner, which is the dhikr reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and you will learn it, if Allah wills. And this adhan, the origin of its prescription is that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) migrated to Madinah and the Muslim community had a state and an entity, they wanted to make a sign for the entry of the time of prayer so that they could gather for it. Proposals were put forward: the proposal of the horn, which is blown to make a sound; the proposal of the gong, which is like a bell but has a strong sound because it is large; the proposal of a fire being lit so that people see it and know that the time has entered. All these proposals were rejected. Why? Because all of these are calls to polytheistic worship. The gong is for the Christians, the horn is for the Jews, and the fire is for the Zoroastrians. These were rejected. And the Muslims had taken great interest in this because it is important. What gathers people when the time enters?

He ('Abdullah) said when it was morning I went to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he said, "It is a true vision...

الصلاة خير من النومIt is from the Sunnah that when the Mu'adhadhin says [in the first Adhan of] Fajr (prayer time): 'Haiya 'alal-Falah (Come to the success)', he says (also) 'as-Salatu khairun minan-nawm (Prayer is better than sleep).'
