Then he said: [Al-'Ankabut 29:37] Among the benefits of this verse is the clarification of what the messengers (peace and blessings be upon them) suffered from their people, as indicated by His saying: There is no doubt that the denial of a person who is in the right, who possesses the truth and the signs and comes for the benefit of creation, yet is denied, is a matter that is not easy for the soul to bear.
Another benefit of the verse is the consolation of the callers to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) when they are opposed in their calling. How is this? How is this consolation? The messengers were denied, so they are the first to be in that position. For this reason, Allah consoles the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with such things as [Al-An'am 6:34] The caller to Allah should not be proud to the point of refusing to be denied, for this is the path of the messengers (peace and blessings be upon them) and their followers will be like them.
Among the benefits of the verse is the hastening of the punishment for the deniers. When is this? If we say that the *fa* in His saying: فأخذتهم ايش؟
So what seized them? A wave? But if we say that it is causal, it does not indicate [hastening], because the effect may be delayed from the cause. Among the benefits of the verse is the wisdom of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in punishing the deniers of their messengers. And among them is that the punishment is not injustice or oppression, for Allah the Exalted is free from oppression and does not wrong anyone. If these people were not being punished rightfully, Allah would not have punished them. And among them is the power of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), as indicated by His saying: "and they became prostrate in their homes." How many were they? What was their number? They were a large tribe that Allah the Exalted destroyed in an instant. This is proof of His power, and that when He wills a thing, He only says to it, "Be," and it is. And among them is that refuges do not benefit from Allah. This is taken from His saying: "in their homes." The home is a refuge for a person, to which he takes refuge from his enemy, but with regard to Allah, it neither prevents nor benefits. For this reason, He said: "they became prostrate in their homes."
But they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.
So they denied him

And if they deny you, then messengers before you have been denied, who brought clear proofs, the Scriptures, and the illuminating Book.
And certainly were messengers denied before you, but they were patient over [the effects of] denial, and they were harmed
