Question:
From Libya, the listener Ismail al-Amin Isa sent a message asking about the exegesis of some verses. He quotes the Truth, Blessed and Exalted is He: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. [Fatir:4]?
Answer:
The Lord, (Exalted and Majestic is He), consoles His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and encourages him to be patient so that he does not become distressed by the denial of his people. Many nations have denied their messengers (peace be upon them all), so He says to him: [Fatir:40], meaning: you have an example in them, so do not be distressed, and you should be patient. For this reason, He said in another verse: [Al-Hijr:35], and He said: [Al-Tur:48]. So Allah commands His Prophet to be patient and to follow the example of the past messengers. They were denied and afflicted, so they were patient. He, too, must be patient as they were patient, and he must endure as they endured. He has a great reward and much good with Allah. And Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, is the One who guides whom He wills. He said, the Exalted: [Al-Baqarah:272], and He said, the Exalted: [Al-Qasas:56]. So it is necessary to endure and be patient.
And Allah, (Exalted and Majestic is He), is the Wise and the All-Knowing in what He commands, in what He forbids, in guiding some to Islam and obedience, and in causing others to fail so that they do not submit and do not accept the truth. He is the Wise and the All-Knowing, (Exalted and Majestic is He). So the servant should ask Allah for success, seek His help in doing good, and beware of evil and its causes. He should be patient as others have been patient. And so it is with the messengers (peace be upon them all); they must be patient, and our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) must be patient as those before him were patient.
As for the other verse, it contains a warning against being deceived by this world and being deceived by Shaytan, who is the deceiver. That is, it is obligatory for the believer to beware of the world and its seductive desires. For this reason, He said, (Exalted and Majestic is He): [Fatir:5]. His promise to you of the Reckoning, the recompense, Paradise, the Fire, and the establishment of the Hour is all true. The establishment of the Resurrection is necessary, the recompense for deeds is necessary, Paradise for the people of faith and piety is necessary, and the Fire for the people of disbelief and hypocrisy is necessary. It is all true.
For this reason, He said: [Fatir:5], meaning: by its adornment, its wealth, its desires, its foods, its drinks, and other things in it. It is a place of passing away, a place of perishing, as He said, the Exalted: [Ar-Rahman:26], and He said, the Exalted: [Al-Imran:185].
So it is not fitting for the rational believer... it is not fitting for him to be deceived by it, its adornment, its people, and what they have been given of the world. Rather, he should beware, prepare for the Hereafter, and seek help through Allah's blessings in obeying Allah. He should not be deceived by Shaytan, who is the deceiver, for he beautifies falsehood for people, deceives them, calls them to incline toward the world, calls them to deny the Hereafter, and beautifies this immediate life for them. Perhaps he beautifies for them persisting in sins, and says: repentance comes after that. If he finds no way to make them deny and reject the Hereafter, he beautifies for them that they are lenient with sins, and says: it is possible for you to repent after that, and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. And similar to this is what he uses to deceive them.
It is obligatory to be wary of obeying the deluding Shaytan, and to be wary of all sins, and to hasten to repent when a sin occurs. For this reason, He said afterward:[Fatir 35:6] meaning: treat him as an enemy, for he is a clear enemy. Then the Exalted said: [Fatir 35:6] meaning: his followers. [Fatir 35:6] This is his mission, this is his call, and this is his path: the call to the Fire.
So it is obligatory for the rational person to beware of this clear enemy, not to obey him in what he calls to of falsehood, and to beware of his whispers and what he beautifies of sins; perhaps he will be saved.

And if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - already were messengers denied before you. And to Allah are returned [all] matters.
Answer:

So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them
And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes.
Not upon you, [O Muhammad], is [responsibility for] their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills.
Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills
And Allah, (Exalted and Majestic is He), is the Wise and the All-Knowing in what He commands, in what He forbids, in guiding some to Islam and obedience, and in causing others to fail so that they do not submit and do not accept the truth. O mankind, indeed the promise of Allah is truth
For this reason, He said:
So do not let this worldly life delude you.
Everyone upon the earth will perish,
And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.
So it is not fitting for the rational believer... it is not fitting for him to be deceived by it, its adornment, its people, and what they have been given of the world. Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy.

إِنَّمَا يَدْعُوا حِزْبَهُto be among the companions of the Blaze.
