Continuation of the benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Say, ‘Who is it that can protect you from Allah if He intends for you harm or if He intends for you mercy?’”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Among the benefits of this noble verse is that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has no one who can prevent what He has given, and no one who can give what He has withheld, as He said:
if He intends for you an ill or intends for you a mercy ِإنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوءًا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً
[Al-Ahzab 33:17]
Therefore, no one can prevent what Allah has given, and no one can give what Allah has withheld. Accordingly, the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is:
O Allah! No-one can withhold what You give, and none can give what You withhold اللهم لا مانع لما أعطيت ولا معطي لما منعت
Sahih al-Bukhari 6615
.
Among its benefits is that it encourages a person to attach himself to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and to none other, as He said:
Who is it that can protect you from Allah if He intends for you an ill or intends for you a mercy? مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَعْصِمُكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوءًا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً
[Al-Ahzab 33:17]
Since the entire matter is in the hand of Allah, a person should attach himself to his Lord and to none other.
