Commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: ((And preservation)) is in the accusative case due to a presumed verb

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Now, he says that "preservation" is in the accusative case due to a presumed verb, meaning we preserved it with meteors. "Preservation" means that "preservation" is in the accusative case as the described noun, and the verb is omitted, with the presumed meaning being "we preserved it," that is, we preserved the lowest heaven with preservation. With what? With meteors, as Allah the Exalted said:
And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِلشَّيَاطِينِ
[Al-Mulk:5]. And he said here:
And as protection against every rebellious devil وحفظا من كل شيطان مارد
[As-Saffat 37:7]
"From every" is connected to the presumed verb, which is "we preserved it."
And his saying:
Rebellious devil شيطان مارد
"Defiant, straying from obedience." "Devil" is an indefinite noun, as you see, encompassing every devil. So it is an indefinite noun added to "every," which contains two types of causes of generality: the indefiniteness and the addition of "every" to it. It is said that "devil" is derived from "shata" meaning to burn, and on this view, the nun is superfluous. It is also said that it is from "shatn" meaning to be distant, in which case the nun is original. And this is the apparent view: that the nun is original and it is derived from "shatn" meaning to be distant, because the devil has become distant from the mercy of Allah. Allah the Exalted said:
And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." وإن عليك اللعنة إلى يوم الدين
[Al-Hijr 15:35]

And his saying:
Rebellious مارد
"Rebellious" is the defiant one, the strong one. Defiance and, may Allah protect us from it.
