The vision has come true
with what you brought of what was possible for you regarding the matter of the slaughter, meaning that suffices for you. The phrase “We called out to him” is the answer to the “li-ma” with the addition of the waw. This has been discussed previously, and we clarified that the correct view is that the waw is not superfluous, but rather a conjunction to an implied phrase appropriate to the context, because the waw is one of the letters of meaning and conveys a benefit that we do not derive if we consider it superfluous. What is of that nature cannot be superfluous.
(104) We called to him, "O Abraham, (105) You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus
[As-Saffat 37:104-105]
“As We rewarded you, reward the doers of good
so We reward the doers of good for themselves by obeying the command to relieve them of their distress.” “Indeed, We thus” means that just as We rewarded you, so We reward the doers of good, and that is by removing their distress when they do what they are commanded. The evidence for this is the saying of the Exalted:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect.
[At-Talaq 65:2-3]
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease.
[At-Talaq 65:4]
These two verses indicate that whenever a person fears Allah, his worries are removed and his distress is relieved. And His saying:
the doers of good
includes excellence in the worship of Allah and excellence toward the servants of Allah. As for excellence in the worship of Allah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained it by saying...?
The student:
To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you.
Sahih al-Bukhari 50 The Shaykh :To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you.
Sahih al-Bukhari 50 As for excellence in dealing with creation, it was said that it is giving of kindness, restraining harm, and having a pleasant face. Giving of kindness means giving of good in speech, action, wealth, and status; this is giving of kindness. Restraining harm is known as restraining your harm to people by speech or action. Having a pleasant face means not being frowning, but rather always being open-hearted and bright-faced. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was always cheerful and often smiling. When a person is like that, he remains happy and open-hearted himself, and the one he interacts with is also happy and open-hearted. There is no harm if a real reason for frowning is found and the interest requires it; it is permissible for a person to do so, but on the condition that it is not prohibited by the Shari'ah. If a person frowns at a person who comes seeking a right and good, but is open to others who do not seek that, this is not permissible for him. For this reason, Allah rebuked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for that in His saying:
He frowned and turned away, when there came to him the blind man.
and so on. But if the situation requires it, in that this man, if you were to be cheerful in his face and open your face to him, would increase in transgression, aversion, and tyranny, then it is better not to show him openness.
