Now, let us begin the new lesson: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Allah the Exalted said:
The Wise الحكيم
It has been established for us that this is part of the clear, decisive verses and part of the rulings. Al-ihkam means perfection, and perfection is wisdom, which is placing a thing in its proper place. The scholars said: Wisdom is found in the form of a thing, its structure, its essence, and its ultimate goal. It is found in the thing itself and in its ultimate goal. Wisdom in the thing itself means that the thing itself contains wisdom. If you reflect on the laws of the Shari'ah, you will find that they contain wisdom. And if you reflect on their ultimate goal, you will find that it is also of the utmost wisdom. Likewise, if you reflect on the creations that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has made, which is the wisdom found in the universe, you will find that they contain wisdom. And if you reflect on their ultimate goal, you will find that it is also wisdom. The acts of worship are intended to reform creation, and they are established according to wisdom. The fact that the prayers are in this form is wisdom. Zakah, Hajj, and the rest of the acts of worship are the same. The universe: the sky, the earth, the sun, and the moon; the fact that they are in this wonderful system is wisdom, and their ultimate goal is also wisdom. Allah the Exalted said:
And We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them aimlessly. That is the assumption of those who disbelieve, so woe to those who disbelieve from the Fire.
[Sad 38:27]
