Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Then Allah the Exalted said:
The revelation of the Qur'an is from Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. تنزيلُ الكتاب مِن الله العزيز الحكيم
[Az-Zumar 39:1]
The revelation of the Book تنزيل الكتاب
The Book is the Qur'an, and it is called a Book because it is written in the Preserved Tablet, written in the scrolls that are in our hands, and written in the scrolls that are in the hands of the angels. Allah the Exalted said
(11) No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; (12) So whoever wills may remember it. (13) [It is recorded] in honored sheets, (14) Exalted and purified, (15) [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, (16) Noble and dutiful. كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌ * فَمَنْ شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ * فِي صُحُفٍ مُكَرَّمَةٍ * مَرْفُوعَةٍ مُطَهَّرَةٍ * بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍ * كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ
['Abasa 80:11-16]
So the Book is the Qur'an, and it is called a Book because it is what? Written in the Preserved Tablet, in the scrolls that are in our hands, in the scrolls that are in the hands of the angels. And on this basis,
fi'alفِعَال
means
maf'ulمَفْعُول
, and this form—I mean
fa'alanفعالًا
—often comes to mean
maf'ulمفعول
in the Arabic language. From this: an example of
fi'alفِعال
meaning
maf'ulمفعول
? It appears you are in the country now, thinking about what?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : And you know too, teach us from what you know
The student: ...

The Shaykh : What are you thinking about now while you are sitting?
The student: About the lesson

The Shaykh : About the lesson? Yes, yes
The student: ... firash means mufarash ...

The Shaykh : And ghiras means maghruus, binaa means mabni, good
