The student: ....

The Shaykh : Because their desires are what overcame them, and the word
being turned awayتصرفون
indicates turning away, for they were turned away, but it was their desires and the devils that turned them away. Yes.
The student: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. If you disbelieve, then indeed Allah is free from you and does not accept disbelief for His servants, and if you are grateful, He is pleased with it for you. And no bearer of a burden will carry the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, and He will inform you of what you used to do. Indeed, He is Knowing of what is in the breasts. And when man is touched by hardship, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him in repentance. Then when He grants him a favor from Him, he forgets what he used to call upon Him for before, and he sets up rivals for Allah to mislead [him] from His path. Say: “Enjoy your disbelief for a little while. Indeed, you are among the companions of the Fire.”
