Continuation of the commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: “And if you are grateful” to Allah, “and believe, He will be pleased with it” with sukun on the haa and with dammah, with full pronunciation and without it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Well, then,
yiradhuhيرض
this is the answer to the condition, and it is in the jussive mood by the deletion of the alif, and its original form is
yiradhaيرضى
but the alif was deleted for the jussive. Well, he said: “
yiradhuhيرضَه
with sukun on the haa”
I recite
He will be pleased with it for you يَرْضَهْ لكم
And if you are grateful, He approves it for you
[Az-Zumar 39:7]
and this is very light; making it sukun means you recite it lightly. The second one says: “and with dammah on it”
yiradhuhu يرضَهُ
in the case of dammah, “with full pronunciation and without it” full pronunciation of
yiradhuhu lakum يرضَهُ لكم
you pronounce it fully until a waw comes out of it, “and without it” you delete the waw when we recite:
And if you are grateful, He approves it for you
[Az-Zumar 39:7]
And if you are grateful, He approves it for you
[Az-Zumar 39:7]
And if you are grateful, He approves it for you
[Az-Zumar 39:7]
all of this is permissible, a mass-transmitted sevenfold recitation. And as we have passed over—and we repeat it for the sake of the new brothers—it is recommended for a person to recite the Qur'an with all the recitations, because all of them are true, so it is not recommended that we boycott a right from the rights, but on the condition that he is certain of the recitation; mere preponderance of opinion is not sufficient, he must be certain, otherwise he should recite what he is certain of. Another condition is that he not be among the common people, because if the common people hear a recitation from him that contradicts their mushaf, it causes confusion for them, confusion regarding the Qur'an and a bad opinion regarding you. May Allah have mercy on a man who keeps suspicion away from himself. As for in the context of teaching or in recitation between you and yourself, it is recommended that if you are knowledgeable of the recitation, you recite with it sometimes, with this sometimes and with that sometimes. So, for example, in
The Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. * Master of the Day of Judgment
there is a recitation of
Malik
and a recitation of
Owner مالك
recite with it once here, once with this, and once with this. Yes, he says:
And if you are grateful, He approves it for you
[Az-Zumar 39:7]
He will be pleased with youيرضه
The author said: “meaning, gratitude” So what is gratitude? Some of them defined it with a comprehensive and exclusive definition, saying: Gratitude is performing the obedience of the Bestower, acknowledging His favor. It is done with the heart, the tongue, and the limbs. And on this basis, the poet said:
The blessings have benefited me with three things: my hand, my tongue, and the hidden spirit.
Yes, so, O servant of Allah, what is gratitude?
The student: Performing the obedience of Allah.

The Shaykh : The obedience of the Bestower.
The student: The obedience of the Bestower in a manner.

The Shaykh : Acknowledging His favor. Well, where is its place?
The student: Its place is the heart, the tongue, and the limbs.

The Shaykh : Yes, well. The heart: that a person believes with his heart that this blessing or these blessings are from Allah (Mighty and Majestic), as a favor from Him, and he does not say: “This is mine, I was given it because of knowledge I have,” but rather he says: “This is from the favor of my Lord.” Second: with the tongue, that he worships Allah with every word He has prescribed, and among that is speaking of the blessing of Allah, for this is from gratitude, because it is a prescribed word. Allah the Exalted said:
But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it].
[Ad-Duhaa 93:11]
. As for the limbs, it is apparent that you display the blessing of Allah upon you with your limbs. For example, if Allah gives you strength and courage, you display that with strength in the path of Allah, in fighting the disbelievers and the hypocrites and others. The important thing is that the effect of the blessing appears in your actions, so that you perform the worship of the Bestower (Mighty and Majestic).
He says: “
And if you are grateful
Allah, and believe”
meaning, and believe in the faith that necessitates righteous action, not mere belief in Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Belief in Allah does not become true faith until it necessitates acceptance and submission. Pay attention, everyone. Many of the common people think that belief in Allah is only to believe in the existence of Allah. This is wrong. Rather, belief in Allah is the faith that necessitates acceptance and submission: acceptance of what He has commanded and an open chest toward it, and submission is complete obedience. Allah the Exalted said:
But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.
[An-Nisa 4:65]
. In the opinion of those who say that faith is belief in the existence of Allah, they think that the Jews and the Christians, what are they? Believers. And they may explicitly state this, saying: “The Christian is a believer, he believes in Allah.” And if someone dies to him, he says: “May Allah have mercy on him.” And the Jews are the same. We say: This is not belief in Allah. Belief in Allah is not valid and does not become complete: it is not valid, no, it does not become complete, only it is not valid except with acceptance and submission: acceptance of what came through revelation and submission is complete obedience.
