Commentary on Tafsir al-Jalalayn: (( So worship what you will other than Him )) other than Him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The author says: "
other than Himمن دونِه
other than Him "
meaning other than Him " In this is a threat to them and an indication that they do not worship Allah "
indicationإيذَان
meaning informing, i.e., that this sentence contains a threat and that they do not worship Allah but rather worship other than Him,
Say قل
meaning: Say to them, with your mocking of them and your threatening of them,
Indeed, the losers are the ones who will lose themselves إنَّ الخاسرين الذين خسروا أنفسَهم
[Az-Zumar 39:15]
the sentence contains emphasis and restriction. Where is the emphasis?
The student:
Indeedإِن

The Shaykh :
Indeedإِن
Indeed, the losersإن الخاسرين
, the restriction: that the two ends of the sentence are definite nouns
the losers are the ones who will lose الخاسرين الذين خسروا
[Az-Zumar 39:15]
so it is as if he said: The losers are those who lost themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. So it contains emphasis and restriction. Good.
Indeed, the losersإن الخاسرين
Who is the loser? The loser is made clear by Allah Mighty and Majestic in His saying:
(2) Indeed, mankind is in loss, (3) Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience. إن الانسان لفي خسر * إلا الذين آمنوا
[Al-'Asr 103:2-3]
meaning that loss is the opposite of profit, and that is because a trader either takes back his capital, or he loses and receives -complete- less than his capital, or he profits and receives more. The true loss is what Allah mentioned here.
the ones who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection الذين خسروا أنفسهم وأهليهم يوم القيامة
[Az-Zumar 39:15]
These are the ones who lost. The loser is not the one who lost millions of dirhams, nor is the loser the one who lost his family in this world, nor is the loser the one who lost his life in this world. The loser is the one who lost himself and his family when? On the Day of Resurrection. He lost himself and his family. He says: " by being made to abide in the Fire and by not reaching the houris prepared for them in Paradise if they had believed " Good. His saying: " by being made to abide in the Fire " this is an explanation of their loss of themselves, because he lost himself in reality. What is the aspect of the loss? The aspect of the loss is that his life in this world did not benefit him in the Hereafter at all, so he lost himself, he lost his entire life, it went to waste. Is that clear?
The student: Yes, indeed...

The Shaykh : It is clear. He lost himself. If he had been a believing, sincere person, he would have benefited, and all his life in this world would have been profit, because he will be made to abide in Paradise, in which is what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and what has not come into the heart of any human being. But now, he will be made to abide in the Fire. This is a loss of the self, a loss of the family. The author explained it by saying that the houris of Paradise are missed by him if he had believed. And while this has a point, it is far from the truth. That is because the houris in Paradise were not his family, so it cannot be said that he lost them. Rather, the intended meaning is that they lost their families, because if their families were believers, they are in Paradise and they will not be reunited with him. And if they were disbelievers, they are in the Fire and they will not be reunited with him either. And if they were believers and their offspring were believers, they would be as Allah the Exalted said:
And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith والذين آمنوا واتبعتهم ذريتهم بإيمان
[At-Tur 52:21]

The student: Attach us

The Shaykh :
We will join with them their descendants ألحَقْنَا بهم ذريتهم
[At-Tur 52:21]
meaning that no one will be reunited with his family in this world. No one will be reunited in the Hereafter unless he and they are believers, in which case they will be reunited in a reunion after which there is no separation. As for the one who is not so, there is no reunion? Are you with us or, by Allah, I do not know about you?
The student: ... with you

The Shaykh : Sound in body and heart?
The student: Body and heart, everything...

The Shaykh : Good. In any case, the correct view is that the intended meaning of "their families" is their families in this world, where they lost the reunion with them in the Hereafter? And the aspect of the loss, O Alian? ... by gesture, if the gesture is understood
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Write, no, no, cut off the writing for us. Yes
The student: If they were believers and they were disbelievers, they will not meet them.

The Shaykh : Because the family is in Paradise and these are in the Fire. Complete.
The student: And if they were disbelievers, likewise they will not meet them.

The Shaykh : Yes, because each one
The student: Each one is occupied

The Shaykh : is occupied with himself. Complete. Allah Mighty and Majestic said:
Unquestionably, that is the manifest loss." ألا ذلك هو الخُسْرَان المُبِين
[Az-Zumar 39:15]
meaning, by Allah,
That isألا ذلك
look at the emphasis, the extreme emphasis,
Indeedألا
the particle of opening, and what is its benefit?
The student: Alerting

The Shaykh : Emphasis and alerting.
thatذلك
an indication of distance, because it is a distant loss, and may Allah protect us from it. Meaning, he did not say "Is that not this," even though its mention is near, but it is a distant loss, so it was indicated with an indication of distance. Then it was restricted, he said:
the lossهو الخسران
meaning nothing other than it. Then it was emphasized by its magnitude, he said:
the clearالمبين
meaning the clear one that is not hidden from anyone. We ask Allah to make us and you among the winners. Is there any discussion?
