Continuation of the benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (( ... Say, "Indeed, the losers are those who have lost themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, that is the clear loss. "))

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Indeed, the true life of a person is what he spends in obedience to Allah. For this reason, Allah described these people as having lost themselves, because they did not do any good.
Among the benefits of the verse is that this loss is the greatest loss that can occur, as indicated by His saying:
Unquestionably, that is the manifest loss." ألا ذلك هو الخسران المبين
[Az-Zumar 39:15]
. We did not discuss the separating pronoun yesterday, but you must have some knowledge of it. The separating pronoun is not a noun, according to the stronger opinion, so it has no grammatical position, but it is used for three benefits. The first is:
The student: So that the predicate is not confused with the attribute.

The Shaykh : So that the predicate is not confused with the attribute; that is, it separates the predicate from the attribute. This becomes clear by example: If I say, "Zayd the noble," it is possible that "the noble" is an attribute and the predicate is omitted, meaning, for example, "Zayd the noble is in the house." But if I say, "Zayd is the noble," it becomes certain that "the noble" is the predicate; it is certain that it is the predicate. What is the second benefit of the separating pronoun? Bandar?
The student: Restriction.

The Shaykh : Restriction. If you say, "Zayd is the noble," it means: no one else. This is different from saying, "Zayd is noble," where he is noble, but others may also be noble. What is the third benefit? Fahd.
The student: Emphasis.

The Shaykh : Emphasis, because the statement "Zayd is the noble" is more emphatic than "Zayd the noble." As for
He.هو
, it has no grammatical position. The evidence for this in the Qur'an is that Allah the Exalted said:
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?" لعلنا نتبع السحرة إن كانوا هم الغالبين
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:40]
. If it had a grammatical position, it would be a subject, and what follows it would be raised in the nominative case, and the verse would have been: "Perhaps we will follow the magicians if they are the dominant ones."
