The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Is he upon whom the word of punishment has become a reality, then will you save the one in the Fire? But those who fear their Lord, for them are rooms above which are rooms”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In this verse
Then, is one who has deserved the decree of punishment أفمن حق عليه كلمة العذاب
[Az-Zumar 39:19]
This is attested by the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Whoever Allah sends astray - there is no guide for him. And He leaves them in their transgression, wandering blindly. من يضلل الله فلا هادى له ويذرهم فى طغيانهم يعمهون
[Al-A'raf 7:186]

And among its benefits is the affirmation of the speech of Allah, because the One who decrees punishment is Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and no one else. So the word of punishment issues from Allah, and in this is the affirmation of speech for Allah (Mighty and Majestic). The entire Qur'an, every letter of it, contains the affirmation of the speech of Allah. Why?
The student: ...
The Shaykh: No, in every letter of the Qur'an there is the affirmation of the speech of Allah.
The student: Because it is a voice and a letter.
The Shaykh: Because it is the speech of Allah; because it is the speech of Allah, every letter of it is the speech of Allah, since the speech of Allah is letters and voice.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is unable to save the one in the Fire. And if this is the case for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), then it is all the more so for others.
And among its benefits is that he upon whom the word of punishment has become a reality is in the Fire, because we said that the apparent [pronoun] here stands in place of the hidden [pronoun], and the intended meaning is: “Will you save him?”
And among the benefits of this noble verse is the eloquence of the Qur'an and the severity of its deterrents, where it comes with such a severe style that severs the conscious, living heart.
Then, is one who has deserved the decree of punishment [to be guided]? Then, can you save one who is in the Fire? أفمن حق عليه كلمة العذاب أفانت تنقذ من في النار
[Az-Zumar 39:19]
It is a very severe style, and there is no doubt that a severe style in its proper place is considered eloquence, because eloquence is that speech matches the requirement of the situation, meaning what the situation demands of softness, severity, lengthening, or brevity. Good.
And among the benefits of this verse is the affirmation of the Fire. The Fire is the second abode in which humans and jinn settle. It is the abode of those who transgress and disbelieve. It exists now and will remain forever.
Then He said, the Exalted:
But those who fear their Lord لكن الذين اتقو ربهم
to its end. In this is an explanation of the high rank of the pious, as if it is a lifting of them from the severe threat mentioned previously for those upon whom the word of punishment has become a reality.
Among its benefits is that taqwa (mindfulness of Allah) is a cause for entering Paradise, due to His saying: “For them are rooms” to its end.
And among its benefits is that their taqwa of Allah has a preceding and a following cause. The specific lordship in His saying
Their Lord ربهم
necessitated that they fear Him, and they fear their Lord who will reward them. So taqwa has a cause, which is the care of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for them; this is preceding. And it has a following cause, which is what they hope for of the reward of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). All of this leads to taqwa. He is their Lord in that He guided them to taqwa, and He is their Lord in that He rewarded them for it.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is that the levels of Paradise are rooms built one above the other, due to His saying:
for them are chambers, above them chambers built high لهم غرف من فوقها غرف مبنية
[Az-Zumar 39:20]
Do these rooms differ according to the worker? The answer is yes. And the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) explained that there are two gardens of the eternal gardens of gold, their vessels and what is in them, and two gardens of silver, their vessels and what is in them.
And among the benefits of this noble verse is the completeness of bliss, where these rooms have rivers flowing from under them, and in them are trees, and in them is everything a person desires, and even more than that.
Among its benefits, among the benefits of the noble verse, is that this bliss is established by the promise of Allah, due to His saying, the Exalted: “The promise of Allah.”
And among its benefits is the affirmation that Allah does not break His promise, due to the perfection of His truthfulness and His power. So in it is the affirmation of the perfection of truthfulness and the affirmation of the perfection of power.
