The benefits of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And thus has the word of your Lord been fulfilled against those who disbelieved that they are the companions of the Fire."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the affirmation of the decree of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) regarding things.
This affirms that things were written beforehand, as He said:
The word of your Lord has been fulfilled حقت كلمة ربك
This does not contradict the sending of the messengers, nor the command of what He commanded, nor the prohibition of what Allah prohibited. Why? Because Allah the Exalted gave man intellect, sound judgment, and insight to know how to act. So if the messengers are sent along with the original fitrah (innate natural disposition) and then one is stubborn, the proof has been established against him.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the affirmation of speech for Allah, as He said:
the word of your Lord كلمة ربك
It is the belief of the people of the Sunnah and the community that Allah the Exalted speaks with audible speech and letters, meaning that it is heard and understood with ordered letters. So when He (Exalted and Majestic is He) says:
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, Lord of the worlds - الحمد لله رب العالمين
[Al-Fatihah 1:2]
we know that the hamzah comes before the lam, the lam before the ha, the ha before the mim, the mim before the dal, and so on. These are ordered letters that did not come as a single unit. And if they are ordered, it necessitates the occurrence of the words, because what comes after the first is realized after it. Thus, this is proof of the occurrence of the speech of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). However, this does not refer to the essence of the attribute, for the essence of the attribute is eternal and was not created before. Indeed, Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has always been with His attributes; He has always been All-Knowing, He has always been the Speaker, He has always been All-Hearing, He has always been All-Powerful. But the attribute may occur bit by bit in terms of its individual instances. As for what is a conceptual attribute, the occurrence is not for it, but for its object. Do we say that the hearing of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is created? No, He has always been so, but what occurs is the thing heard. Speech occurs, the speech itself, because it is a type of action. Accordingly, we say that in the verse there is the affirmation of speech for Allah, and the position of the people of the Sunnah and the community is that Allah speaks with ordered letters and audible sound.
Now, if someone says, "If you say it is with ordered letters, it necessitates that His speech resembles the speech of the created beings," the answer is that it does not necessitate this, because speech cannot be speech except in this way. But the sound of the Lord (Mighty and Majestic) that is heard is not like the sounds of the created beings, because the sound is His attribute. However, the letters are the attribute of the speech with which He spoke, and they cannot be speech except by ordering some of them after others.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the care of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). What is its aspect?
your Lord ربك
where He attributed lordship to him. And this lordship is specific, because the lordship of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is of two types: general and specific. The general encompasses everything, and the specific is restricted to what it is attributed to. Listen to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
(121) They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds, (122) The Lord of Moses and Aaron." قالوا آمنا برب العالمين رب موسى وهارون
[Al-A'raf 7:121-122]
In this, there is general lordship and specific lordship. The general? Lord of the worlds. The specific? Lord of Moses and Aaron.
I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city, who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things إنما أمرت أن أعبد رب هذه البلدة التي حرمها وله كل شيء
[An-Naml 27:91]
The first
The Lord of this city. رب هذه البلدة
means Mecca, which He made sacred. This is specific lordship.
to whom [belongs] all things وله كل شيء
[An-Naml 27:91]
This is general. So His saying:
your Lord ربك
is from the category of specific lordship. And there is no doubt that the most specific lordship for the created beings is the lordship of the messengers, especially those of determined resolve among them, who are five: Muhammad, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and Nuh (peace and blessings be upon them).
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the eternity of those who disbelieved in the Fire, as He said:
that they are companions of the Fire. أنهم أصحاب النار
[Ghafir 40:6]
Is this eternity eternal or for a limited time? It is eternal. This came in three verses in the Qur'an: in Surat al-Nisa, in Surat al-Ahzab, and in Surat al-Jinn.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the warning against what necessitates the anger and wrath of Allah, lest a man be one against whom the word of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has been fulfilled, for His saying:
likewise كذلك
means like that which happened to those who denied the truth, the word of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) was fulfilled.
