Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “The people of Noah denied [their prophet] before them, and the parties after them. And every nation plotted against their messenger to seize him, and they argued with falsehood to refute the truth”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:
before them, did the people of Noah كذبت قبلهم قوم نوح
[Al-Hajj 22:42]
This is like an explanation for His saying:
so be not deceived by their [uninhibited] movement throughout the land. فلا يغررك تقلبهم في البلاد
[Ghafir 40:4]
meaning, let them look at the outcome of those who came before them when they denied [the truth]. And His saying:
Before them قبلهم
The pronoun refers to those who denied the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The people of Noah denied before them and the [disbelieving] factions after them, and every nation intended [a plot] for their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth. So I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty. قوم نوح والأحزاب من بعدهم
[Ghafir 40:5]
Noah was the first messenger Allah the Exalted sent to the people of the earth after they had differed.
then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed فبعث الله النبيين مبشرين ومنذرين وأنزل معهم الكتاب بالحق ليحكم بين الناس فيما اختلفوا فيه
[Al-Baqarah 2:213]
Noah was sent to the people of the earth because the people of the earth were his people. However, when the peoples multiplied, a messenger was not sent except to his own people specifically, as established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
And the parties والأحزاب
The plural of "party," meaning the factions.
After them من بعدهم
Meaning after the people of Noah.
