The benefits of the verse: “Indeed, those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah and kill the prophets without right…”

Allah the Exalted said: [Ali 'Imran 3:21] to the end of it. Among the benefits of this verse is that it is incumbent to announce to these disbelievers what Allah the Exalted has commanded them to be informed of, namely: [Ali 'Imran 3:21]. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) undoubtedly, whenever wisdom lay in informing them of the painful punishment, he would inform them of it. Likewise, whoever inherits from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in knowledge and calling should inform every disbeliever in the verses of Allah of the painful punishment. However, this must be accompanied by wisdom. It may not be wise, if you call a man to Islam, to say, “Come, you are a disbeliever?” If he says, “Yes,” and you say, “Then be informed of the painful punishment and submit,” is that appropriate? It does not stand. But for every situation there is a suitable statement. If you call him and he persists in his stubbornness and arrogance, then it is appropriate to say, “If you remain upon what you are upon, then be informed of the painful punishment.” Or a man comes to you praising these disbelievers, saying about them, “They are such and such,” and you say, “My brother, inform them of the painful punishment. What benefit will this bring them on the Day of Resurrection?” Among the benefits of the noble verse is the obligation of faith in the verses of Allah, because Allah the Exalted threatened these disbelievers with the painful punishment for it. Faith in the cosmic verses has a meaning, and faith in the legislative verses has a meaning. We said that faith in the legislative verses is: believing the reports, acting according to the rulings, and not touching them with distortion; three things. And faith in the cosmic verses is not believing that Allah has a partner, helper, or independent owner of dominion in them. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the prohibition of killing the prophets, and that it is without right, whatever the case, due to His saying: [Ali 'Imran 3:21], even though killing the prophets without right is part of disbelief, but it was specified because of the severity of its ugliness, may Allah protect us. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the prohibition or the ugliness of whoever kills or fights anyone who commands justice among the people. Who are those who command justice among the people? We said: they are scholars and rulers. The scholars explain the Shari'ah and the rulers implement the Shari'ah. So if a killer kills them, he falls under this verse if they are commanding justice. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the establishment of punishment for these people who are characterized by these attributes, due to His saying: [Ali 'Imran 3:21]. And among its benefits is that the punishment they are informed of is not a light punishment that can be borne, but it is a painful punishment.
