The benefits of the verse: ((He causes the night to enter into the day, and the day to enter into the night...)).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Among the benefits of the verse is the perfection of the power and dominion of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), in that He causes the night to enter into the day and the day to enter into the night. Among its benefits is the affirmation of the wisdom of Allah, for this interpenetration has a great wisdom without which the interests of creation would not be established, because this interpenetration results, as we said, in the variation of the seasons of the year, and the variation of the seasons results in the growth of bodies and plants, some of which are winter plants and some are summer plants. Among the benefits of this is also that a person knows through it his weakness and his need for his Lord; if the cold comes, he seeks what will extinguish it, and if the heat comes, he seeks what will cool him, so he is in need of his Lord in both cases, and this is among the benefits of heat and cold. Among its benefits, and branching from that, is that there are harmful things, which medicine calls germs, that are not killed except by severe cold, and others that are not killed except by severe heat, and this is an observed reality. This is also among the wisdom of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) that results from causing the night to enter into the day and the day to enter into the night. Among the benefits of this, that is, causing the night to enter into the day and the day to enter into the night, is that this interpenetration indicates the perfection of power, as we mentioned first, for no one is able to add an hour of night to the day or vice versa, but Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is the One who is able to do this. Among the benefits of this verse is the perfection of the power of Allah by His dominion in bringing out the living from the dead and bringing out the dead from the living, and the aspect of this is apparent, for the One who is able to bring out a thing from its opposite is proof that His power is complete and His dominion is effective, (Glorified and Exalted is He). Among the benefits of the verse is that provision is in the hand of Allah, as He said:
You give provision to whom You willترزق من تشاء
[Ali 'Imran 3:27]
, and resulting from this, it is befitting for the rational person, let alone the believer, not to seek provision from the hands of people but rather to seek it from Allah (Mighty and Majestic). For this reason, the texts came with the virtue of modesty, that a person should be modest regarding what is in the hands of people and not ask. And among the things upon which the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was that they would not ask people for anything. So if the whip of one of them would fall from his camel to the ground, he would dismount to pick it up and not say, "Hand it to me," because they had pledged not to ask people for anything. And this undoubtedly makes a person turn to whom? To Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He); he turns to Allah. But there is no harm in a person asking for what is permissible for him to ask for; rather, the perfection of modesty is not to ask people for anything, but to entrust the matter to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). Among the benefits of the noble verse is that the giving of Allah is without recompense, as He said:
without reckoningبغير حساب
. So Allah the Exalted does not sell to you the fruit you eat, or the garment you wear, or the house you dwell in; rather, He provides and gives without reckoning. Every blessing is from Allah. Among the benefits of the noble verse is the affirmation of the will of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), in His saying:
whom He willsمن تشاء
. And it has passed us in tawhid (the oneness of Allah) that Allah has a will and a desire, and that the will does not have a division, and that the desire is divided into cosmic and legislative. As for the will, it is cosmic; He wills (Glorified and Exalted is He) everything.
