Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (He causes the night to enter into the day, and He causes the day to enter into the night)]
Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Hadid: 6] (Yulij) means: the night enters into the day, and (yulij al-nahar) means: He causes the day to enter into the night. This signifies the variation in the length and shortness of night and day. Sometimes the night begins to increase—as in our current times—and encroaches upon the day; this is causing the night to enter into the day. Sometimes the night begins to decrease and the day increases, so the day encroaches upon the night. No one is capable of this except Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). If all of creation were to gather, their humans and jinn, humans and angels, they would not be able to cause even one minute of night to enter into the day, or of day to enter into the night. But Allah (Mighty and Majestic) causes the night to enter into the day and the day to enter into the night.
Then this interpenetration does not come all at once,So you cannot say: The shortest night in the longest night in two days! It is not possible. But it comes gradually, bit by bit. At first, when it begins to increase, you find it takes a little, one minute in two or three days. Then it increases and increases until, when the night and day are equal, it takes about two minutes a day, gradually. Have you seen what would happen if it came all at once? For example, we would be in the longest day of the year, and then on the second day we would be in the shortest day of the year. What would result? Great harms, because people would shift from annoying heat to painful cold within twenty-four hours. This is undoubtedly harmful to bodies, plants, and the atmosphere. But He (Mighty and Majestic) causes it to enter in an organized manner, in perfect accordance with wisdom. And no one—by Allah—can ever do this, no matter how much strength they attain.
[Al-Hadid: 6] (Dhat al-sudur) is: the hearts. (Dhat al-sudur) means: the possessor of the breasts, which are the hearts. And the evidence that they are the hearts is: The saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He): [Al-Hajj: 46] So: He is All-Aware of what is in the heart. Do you believe in that? Yes.
You believe,Because the news is the news of Allah the Exalted: [An-Nisa: 122] If you believe in that, is it possible for you to harbor in your heart what Allah does not approve of? If you are a believer, it is not possible. Purify your heart from showing off, hypocrisy, resentment toward Muslims, hatred, and enmity. Purify it, for your heart is known to Allah (Mighty and Majestic)—O Allah, purify our hearts—purify your heart from this. Fill it with love for Allah and reverence for Him, and love for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and reverence for him as befits him, and love for the believers, and love for the Shari'ah of Allah even if you dislike it,Allah the Exalted said to the Companions: [Al-Baqarah: 216] .
Do not harbor in this heart, which is the size of a walnut, anything that Allah dislikes. If you do, then Allah is All-Aware of it; nothing is hidden from Him. So purify your heart until it is pure and sound, for on the Day of Resurrection, only he who comes to Allah with a sound heart will benefit. As Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: [Al-Shu'ara: 88-89] .
And the changes of the heart are rapid and strange. Perhaps it shifts from disbelief to faith, or from faith to disbelief, in an instant—we ask Allah for steadfastness. The change of the heart occurs according to what surrounds the person. And the most common cause that necessitates the heart changing to corruption is the love of this world. The love of this world is a calamity. And the wonder is that we are attached to it, while we know that it is the enjoyment of delusion, and that a person is pleased one day and displeased another day,As the poet said:
A day is for us and a day is against us, a day we are humiliated and a day we are pleased
Every pleasure in this world is surrounded by something that spoils it. Therefore, strive to purify the heart from attachment to the world, except for what benefits you in the Hereafter. For example, if you attach yourself to the world to become wealthy so that you spend your wealth in the cause of Allah, and in what pleases Allah (Mighty and Majestic), that is a different matter. Seeking wealth for righteous deeds is better. But seeking wealth to compete with the people of this world in their worldly life is evil.

and he is Knowing of that within the breasts.
وَهُوَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِFor indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.
