Allah the Exalted said:
But repentance is not [accepted] of those who [continue to] do evil deeds up until, when death comes to one of them, he says, "Indeed, I have repented now," وليست التوبة للذين يعملون السيئات حتى إذا حضر أحدكم الموت قال إن تبت الآن ...
[An-Nisa 4:18]
. Among the benefits of this noble verse: If one repents on the Day of Resurrection, his repentance will not benefit him, because He said:
or of those who die while they are disbelievers ولا الذين يموتون وهم كفار
[An-Nisa 4:18]
. And among its benefits: The obligation to hasten in repentance, because Allah has conditioned its acceptance on a time that is unknown; if that is the case, then it is obligatory to hasten in it. And among its benefits: Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has prepared a painful punishment for the disbelievers who die upon disbelief. And among its benefits: The invalidity of the statement of those who say that the people of the Fire will be accustomed to it, so its heat will not harm them, because Allah said:
A painful punishment عذابا أليما
And if the matter were as they mentioned...
