The questioner : Are the Christians today who claim descent from Isa ibn Maryam among the People of the Book?

The Shaykh : Did not Allah say about those who claim to be Christians or Jews:
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." لقد كفر الذين قالوا إن الله ثالث ثلاثة
[Al-Ma'idah 5:73]
? They are disbelievers; they were disbelievers before the time of the Messenger, and yet Allah made their women lawful and made their slaughtered animals lawful.
