What is the position of the Asha'irah regarding the attribute of love for Allah the Exalted? It is not clear.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the position of the Asha'irah regarding the attribute of love for Allah (Mighty and Majestic)?

The Shaykh : Some of them say this, and some of them say that. Some said that love is the reward, and some said it is the desire for the reward.

The questioner : The attribution of a cause, meaning?

The Shaykh : The attribution of a cause is that they interpreted it in this way and that way? Because they said that they affirm desire; they affirm that He is a Desirer and has desire, and they affirm that Allah is a Creator and has created things. So the reward would be a created thing, distinct from Allah, an effect among His effects, not an attribute among His attributes. And desire is an attribute among His attributes, and they affirm it.

The Shaykh : We have not finished the benefits. May Allah reward you with good. How is that? In the first place, it is not a matter of debate to the extent that we would say what was denied. The matter of debate is that they made this claim. And there is no doubt that the truth is taken from whoever brings it. This has passed us by many times, and we have explained that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted the truth from Satan, and Allah accepted the truth from the polytheists, and the Messenger accepted the truth from the Jews as well.
