What are the people's objectives in rejecting the truth? Unclear

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What are the people's objectives in rejecting the truth?

The Shaykh : Yes, rejecting the truth may be due to arrogance or due to a doubt in the person. We know that the scholars of the Children of Israel rejected the truth out of arrogance, for Allah says:
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? أولم يكن لهم آية أن يعلمهم علماء بني إسرائيل
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:197]
But the common people of the Children of Israel have a doubt, one of which is that their scholars say that Muhammad is an Arab, while Allah says:
It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves هو الذي بعث في الأميين رسولا منهم
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:2]
Then they do not mention to them His saying:
And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them وآخرين منهم لم يلحقوا بهم
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:3]
They cast doubt.
