The questioner : He said: I was fasting during the day in Ramadan, and I vomited during the day in Ramadan, but it was a small amount, so I emptied what was in my stomach myself. Did my fast become invalid on that day or not? May Allah guide you?

The Shaykh : If you were in this state and did not know that this act breaks the fast of the one who is fasting, then you do not have to make it up, because you did the thing that breaks the fast while ignorant. And whoever does one of the things that break the fast while ignorant, he does not break his fast. But if you knew that inducing vomiting breaks the fast of the one who is fasting, then by doing so you have sinned, and you have to make it up, because you broke your fast by inducing vomiting.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : We received a message from one of our noble listeners, Sa'd Abd al-Fattah al-Majdhub, from the Iraqi Republic, Erbil Governorate.
