Allah the Exalted said: << إذ قال موسى لأهله إني ءانست نارا سئاتيكم منها بخبر أو ءاتيكم بشهاب قبس لعلكم تصطلون >

Now he says:
when Moses said إِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى
[Surah al-Naml: 7].
The exegete said: "Remember when he said", and this is his method, which is also known among grammarians: that "idh" (when) is a temporal adverb, and a temporal adverb must have a governing verb, which is its attachment point, so they always supply "remember" in such a construction.
Remember
When Moses said to his family
[Surah al-Naml: 7], and it is well known that Moses is the son of Imran, the brother of Maryam
And [the example of] Mary, the daughter of 'Imran
[Surah al-Tahrim: 12]. How is that?
The student: ....

The Shaykh : What is the clear answer to this? If someone says: Is Moses the brother of Maryam?
The student: I mean... how can that be?

The Shaykh : Because this Moses is the son of Imran, and she is Maryam, the daughter of Imran, and Moses is the brother of Harun
O sister of Harun
[Surah Maryam: 28].
The student: They name them after the names of prophets.

The Shaykh : Yes, they name them after the names of their prophets. And history, as you know and as you just said, the time between Moses and Maryam is very far apart. So Moses (peace and blessings be upon him) is the best of the prophets of the Children of Israel, and he holds the third rank among the Ulul 'Azm (those of firm resolve), because the best of the Ulul 'Azm among the messengers (peace and blessings be upon them) is the Prophet (may Allah praise him and grant him peace), then Ibrahim, then Moses. As for Isa and Nuh, a person finds no distinction between them, because each of them has a distinction that the other does not have. For this reason, we do not prefer one of them over the other.
As for the first three, the preference among them is clear.
The student: The preference among them...?

The Shaykh : No. But it is an explanation of excellence, however, making distinctions for the sake of boasting is not permissible. For this reason, there is the story of the Jew with the Muslim.
The student: Does their order in the Qur'an indicate preference?

The Shaykh : Yes. The precedence.
The student:
And [mention, O Muhammad], when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Mary
[Surah al-Ahzab: 7] ...

The Shaykh : And in the second verse
He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus
[Surah al-Shura: 13].
And it appears, and Allah knows best, that Nuh was placed first here because he is the first of the messages, not because he is the best, and he is undoubtedly the first messenger.
The student: Who is Harun?

The Shaykh : Harun is his brother, but no prophethood is mentioned for him in the Qur'an.
The student: ... Harun ...?

The Shaykh : Yes. As came in the hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The student: Maryam had a brother named Harun, but she is not his mother, right? Shaykh, she vowed what was in her womb to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He)?

The Shaykh : It is permissible that he be a brother from his father.
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. Yesterday we said: Based on your progress, and praise be to Allah, in knowing how to derive benefits, we leave that to you.
So first:
Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.
[An-Naml 27:5]
What is derived from this verse?
The student: From the beginning of it all.

The Shaykh : All of it? No, no, we discussed with you yesterday, and we took the benefits. We said it is specific to the believers... and that as faith increases...
The student: The benefits.

The Shaykh : Okay, so let's start from the beginning. Are we sure that we... start from... and if you want, we can start from... there is no objection... time is passing. Well, I will take its benefits. So let's take them quickly.
