The sixth benefit: It contains evidence for displaying strength to the enemies, based on His saying: [Surat al-Naml: 37]. This falls under the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Surat al-Anfal: 60]. For "strength" is an indefinite noun that encompasses whatever strength is possible, whether it is verbal, material, or spiritual... The important thing is that all forms of strength in dealing with enemies should be utilized by a person, to the extent that it came in the hadith: .
But is treachery permissible or not permissible?
The student: .....
The Shaykh : Treachery against the enemy: It is not permissible for a person to betray his enemy. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said: [Surat al-Anfal: 58], meaning: and do not betray them. Likewise, if they betray, they have broken the treaty. We have already passed over the fact that this issue has three cases regarding those with whom we have treaties; they have three cases:
Either they are upright toward us: [Surat al-Tawbah: 7].
Or they break the treaty, in which case there is no treaty: [Surat al-Tawbah: 12].
Or they do not break the treaty and their outward appearance is uprightness, but we fear treachery from them. In this case, we throw the treaty back to them and inform them that we have annulled the treaty. Even if they say: "We will remain on the treaty," we say: "No, we are now each free."
Here, in the speech: [Surat al-Naml: 37], this threat and warning is undoubtedly a display of strength, so it falls under the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Surat al-Anfal: 60].
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter
And prepare against them whatever you are able of power
War is deception

The Shaykh : Treachery against the enemy: It is not permissible for a person to betray his enemy. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms
Either they are upright toward us:
So as long as they are upright toward you, be upright toward them
Or they break the treaty, in which case there is no treaty:
And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief
Or they do not break the treaty and their outward appearance is uprightness, but we fear treachery from them. In this case, we throw the treaty back to them and inform them that we have annulled the treaty. Even if they say: "We will remain on the treaty," we say: "No, we are now each free."
