Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "It was said to Abu 'Abd Allah: They are pressing their bellies against the wall of the grave. And I said to him: I have seen the scholars of the people of Madinah not touching it, but standing to the side and sending blessings. So Abu 'Abd Allah said: Yes, and this is what Ibn 'Umar used to do. Then Abu 'Abd Allah said: May my father and mother be sacrificed for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Ahmad and others have permitted touching the minbar and the ramanah, which is the place of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) seat and his hand, but they did not permit touching his grave.
Some of our companions have narrated a report regarding touching his grave, because Ahmad attended the funeral of some of the deceased, so he placed his hand on the grave and made du'a for him. The difference between the two places is clear. Malik disliked touching the minbar"
.

The Shaykh : It is clear, so Imam Ahmad placed his hand on the grave, not as a form of seeking blessing by touching, but rather it was as if he saw that it was like placing a hand on a sick person to make du'a for him, so he did this, may Allah have mercy on him. I do not think Imam Ahmad did that as a form of seeking blessing by touching the grave. Yes.
The reader: "Malik disliked touching the minbar, just as they disliked touching the grave. As for today, the minbar has burned, and the ramanah is no longer there; only a small piece of wood remains of the minbar. So what was permitted has ceased to exist".

The Shaykh : As for today, nothing remains, neither a small piece of wood nor a large one. Yes.
The reader: "So what was permitted has ceased to exist, because the report transmitted from Ibn 'Umar and others is only about touching his seat.
Al-Athram narrated in his chain from al-Qa'nabi from Malik from 'Abd Allah ibn Dinar who said:
I saw Abdullah ibn Umar stop by the grave of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and ask for blessings on the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and on Abu Bakr and Umar. رأيت ابن عمر يقف على قبر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فيصلي على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وعلى أبي بكر وعمر
Muwatta Malik 9:76
