The ruling on supplication after prayer, whether obligatory or voluntary, and the ruling on closing the eyes during prayer.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : His statement (may Allah have mercy on him): "within his prayer" indicates that the prescribed supplication in voluntary and obligatory prayers is to be within the prayer, for two reasons:
First: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
and as to prostration, make supplication with exertion in it, that is worthy of being accepted.
Sunan Abi Dawud 876Sahih (Al-Albani)
Thus, he placed the supplication within the prayer itself.
Second: He said in the tashahhud, when one says that: He said
Then let him choose whatever he wishes from supplication.
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:238
and said:
When one of you recites the final tashahhud, let him seek refuge with Allah from four things.
Thus, he placed the supplication within the prayer. If the supplication has been placed within the prayer, it becomes clear that what some people do today, of supplicating after the obligatory prayers or after the voluntary prayers, is contrary to what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) guided to, in that he supplicates within the prayer itself. And if this is contrary to what the Sunnah requires, it is also contrary to what reason requires, because supplicating while you are before Allah, conversing with Him, is better than supplicating to Him after departing. This is a reasonable meaning.
And the making attractive of supplication after the voluntary prayer by many people of Najd, or after the obligatory prayer by many of the immigrants, is no better than making attractive the closing of the eyes in prayer. Many people say that if he closes his eyes in his prayer, it makes him more devout. This is the devil making it attractive to the souls, such that when he closes his eyes, he claims that his heart gathers on the prayer and its meanings.
So the correct thing is to say: Whoever wants to supplicate to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), let him supplicate before he says the taslim, either in the prostration, or after the tashahhud.
As for the obligatory prayer, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has clarified what we say after it, and He said (Glorified and Exalted is He):
And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah
Remember Allah standing, sitting, and lying on your sides. And on the day of Jumu'ah, when He (Glorified and Exalted is He) prevented people from buying and selling after the call, He said:
when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah
[Al-Jumu'ah 62:10]
Thus, He postponed the remembrance from seeking livelihood, because they were prevented from seeking livelihood when the call is made for the prayer on the day of Jumu'ah.
In any case, for the obligatory prayer, Allah the Exalted has clarified what is done after it or what is said.
It is not valid for us to say that if a person says the taslim in the obligatory prayer, he seeks forgiveness three times, and seeking forgiveness is asking for pardon, because this seeking forgiveness is not for the general sins, but for what occurred of defect and deficiency in the prayer. For this reason, it was started with before everything. When a person says the taslim, he says: I seek Allah's forgiveness three times, O Allah, You are the Peace and from You is the Peace, and so on. Yes.
The reader: "The third is that the response"

The Shaykh : Does the prayer of istikharah come back to us? Because the hadith indicates that the supplication is after the taslim.
It does not come back, because this is something the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) specified, so let it be as it was specified.
