Reading from the author's words with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "As for intending by the visit: asking the deceased, or swearing by him to Allah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "As for intending by the visit: asking the deceased, or swearing by him to Allah, or the acceptance of supplication at that spot, this was not the practice of anyone from the Salaf of the Ummah, neither the Companions nor those who followed them in excellence, but rather it occurred after that. Indeed, Malik and other scholars disliked it for a person to say: We visited the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)".

The Shaykh : No one should say that the Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) means to trivialize asking the deceased and swearing by him to Allah, because he said it was not the practice of anyone from the Salaf. If it was not their practice, then what is it? Do we say it is disliked, forbidden, or shirk? We refer to the implications of the evidence in another place. Yes, that is correct.
The reader: "And Qadi Iyad said"

The Shaykh : Indeed, it was.
The reciter: Heard.

The Shaykh : Indeed, Malik disliked it.
The reader: "Indeed, Malik and other scholars disliked it for a person to say: We visited the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And Qadi Iyad said: Malik disliked it to be said: We visited the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He mentioned from some of them that he attributed it to the curse of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) upon the frequenters of graves. He said: This is refuted by his saying:
I forbade you to visit graves, but you may now visit them نهيتكم عن زيارة القبور فزوروها
Sunan Abi Dawud 3235Sahih (Al-Albani)
And from some of them"

The Shaykh : We pause here.
The reader: Did you hear?

The Shaykh : I say we stop. And Qadi said, the speech is long and connected, part by part.
Now, the common people mostly say: We visited the grave of the Prophet. And some of the ignorant who come from outside think that visiting the grave of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is better than circumambulating the Ka'bah. This is a great error. Yes, I say: I visited the grave of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) when I finished, I say: I prayed in his mosque and visited his grave. As for going with the intention of visiting the grave, that is only ignorance. But go with the intention of praying in the mosque, the mosque of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
One should not undertake journeys except to three mosques: al-Masque al-Haram (in Makkah ), the Aqsa mosque, or this mosque (in Madinah). لا تشد الرحال إلا إلى ثلاثة مساجد: المسجد الحرام، ومسجدي هذا، والمسجد الأقصى
Bulugh al-Maram 5:58
